Nothing's put to waste, of course. Not by Sam, and apparently not by Dean, who has made it his goal to shove as much candy bar in his face as possible before Sam catches him in the act; a gentle eye-roll, no heat — the others deserve something good, right? — and he does force down the sour smoothie, just for the sake of politeness. But the thing is... that last note? It kind of scares him. He'd told the other Sam he'd keep his distance for Jack's sake... and Jack himself makes Sam nervous. He wants to completely trust the better, brighter Sam when he says that the kid is 100% good, but... he's the same guy who trusted Ruby, right? Both of them have had their net losses when it comes to trusting the wrong people.
It's not... fair, though. To shove that all on a kid whose sin was being born as Lucifer's offspring.
Sam couldn't bring it upon himself to blame a young Sam Winchester for being a freak, for being made for something bigger and badder than the kid ever anticipated. He couldn't bring it upon himself to blame Jack, either.
